CLIMATE AND ENVIRONMENT YOUTH ORGANISATION
Natur og Ungdom is a significant force in the environmental and climate movement among youths in Norway. With over 5300 members aged 13-25, they strive to give young people a strong voice in societal debates and real influence on politics. Through projects, campaigns, lobbying, and advocacy, they drive the work towards a more sustainable world.
In March 2023, they joined forces with Norwegian oil workers through the union Industriaksjonen to launch the 'Ten Commandments for Green Industry.' This agreement establishes principles for an inclusive transition to a green economy that benefits workers and communities, both locally and globally.
Historically, these two grassroots movements –the environmental movement and the labour movement – have been set against each other in the climate debate. Through the “Ten Commandments for Green Industry”, they provide a shining example of how, instead of giving in to destructive polarisation, we should promote respectful dialogue and create new alliances for a more sustainable future.
Natur og Ungdom stands as a symbol of young leadership and as a driving force for change towards a more sustainable future. Through their commitment and ability to bridge the gap between different interests, they show the way for how collective action can create a better world, serving as a shining example of inclusive transition processes. Therefore, Natur og Ungdom is awarded the WIN WIN Youth Award 2024.
The WIN WIN Youth Award was founded in 2018. It is an international award that aims to empower and reward young people who play an active role in the creation of a more sustainable future The award welcome contributions from individuals, organisations and movements from all over the world, with members between the age 13 to 29.
